Lauri Corley is a member of Kramon & Graham's Real Estate Practice. She represents developers and homebuilders in all aspects of the formation, development, and governance of common interest communities, and private utility companies.
Lauri brings years of experience in community association law with a focus on transactional matters. Prior to joining the firm, Lauri was the head of the transactional department of a regional law firm where she worked directly with boards of directors of homeowners associations and condominium associations and management companies throughout Maryland on all aspects of association governance. This included drafting of comprehensive amendments to declarations and bylaws, spot amendments to the governing documents, and rules and regulations, negotiating vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with disclosure laws, and providing legal opinions interpreting the association's governing documents and current law.
Before that, Lauri worked as an associate at a regional law firm representing both national and local developers and builders in the formation and administration of master planned communities, homeowners associations, condominium associations, mixed-use developments, and land condominiums. In that capacity, Lauri assisted clients in preparation and filing of consumer disclosures including public offering statements and homeowners association disclosure statements, drafting of declarations, bylaws and articles of incorporation, as well as drafting and negotiating easement agreements, reviewing and preparing contracts of sale, negotiating residential and commercial lease agreements and vendor contracts. Additionally, Lauri drafted declarations and contract disclosures for private water sewer facilities charges.
During law school, Lauri worked as a law clerk for a real estate attorney assisting community association boards of directors and management companies with covenant interpretation, drafting of amendments to declarations and bylaws, and the preparation of rules and regulations. She was a Rule 16 Student Attorney with the Community Development Clinic, where she represented a local non-profit community association in a neighborhood facing redevelopment.
