Biography
Kirstin's practice spans a broad spectrum of civil and criminal matters in state and federal courts. Her diverse experience includes representing a Fortune 500 residential homebuilder in class action litigation and arbitration, shareholder breach of fiduciary duty litigation involving Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and defending law firms against claims of legal malpractice. She represents individuals in serious misdemeanor and felony cases. Kirstin also regularly provides pro bono representation, collaborating with Maryland Legal Aid and other entities.
Prior to joining Kramon & Graham, Kirstin served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender with the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland, where she represented indigent people charged with federal felony offenses. While a federal public defender, Kirstin obtained impressive results for her clients, including a jury's not guilty verdict for a client charged with a serious federal felony offense and facing a significant mandatory-minimum prison sentence, and the dismissal of indictments following evidentiary hearings on suppression motions.
Before her work as a public defender, Kirstin served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Catherine C. Blake, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and then for the Honorable Andre M. Davis, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Kirstin taught high school math as part of the Teach For America program.
