Corporate Designee Depositions: A Primer for In-House Counsel
David Shuster gave a presentation to the Baltimore Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel on October 20, 2013 on the subject of preparing corporate representatives for corporate designee depositions and the pitfalls of unprepared witnesses. His presentation, and accompanying article, “Corporate Designee Depositions: A Primer for In-House Counsel,” addressed considerations for selecting the right person to testify on the company's behalf and the collaborative role of in-house counsel during the selection and preparation process. The ACC is a bar association that promotes the common professional and business interests of in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations and other private-sector organizations.
