Steve Klepper quoted in the Baltimore Sun about Adnan Syed exoneration appeal
Kramon & Graham Appellate chair Steve Klepper was quoted in the Baltimore Sun on October 14, 2022 in an article about the dismissal of charges against Adnan Syed in the killing of Hae Min Lee. The Maryland Court of Special Appeals has given the victim's family 15 days to show why their appeal should not be dismissed as moot. An excerpt from the article describes the uniqueness of the situation: "That an appeal can exist at all when the underlying case no longer exists, coupled with the odd circumstances of the attorney general's office, which represents local prosecutor's offices in the appeals process, supporting the appellant, creates an unprecedented legal situation, according to Steve Klepper, one of Maryland's foremost appellate lawyers and appeals court observers."
