Pro Bono Call to Action
The pandemic has created a health, economic and civil justice crisis for many of the nation's most vulnerable communities. The situation is so dire that Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh has issued a Pro Bono Call to Action asking lawyers to assist Marylanders who have been impacted by the pandemic and are struggling with housing, debt, and family-law issues. Under Natalie McSherry's leadership, the Maryland State Bar Association has joined the call, urging lawyers across the state to offer pro bono assistance to those in need of civil legal counsel: "We can be the difference between whether a person keeps their home or gets evicted, retains custody of their children, or loses it. We can be the difference in ensuring that this pandemic recovery does not disproportionately harm the most vulnerable among us," Natalie's appeal has been quoted in the Washington Post, Daily Record, CBS News, and other outlets.
