Kramon & Graham Obtains Punitive Damages for Client in Pro Bono Victory
February 17, 2016
At the conclusion of a trial in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, John A. Bourgeois and Justin A. Redd obtained a judgment for over $400,000 in compensatory and punitive damages on behalf of their client, a young man whose inheritance from his custodial grandmother was stolen by his father. The young man was left destitute, unable to afford tuition at the community college he hoped to attend, and, for periods of time, homeless. Citing the heartbreaking and outrageous facts, the Circuit Court judge awarded more in punitive damages than the plaintiff had requested. Kramon & Graham handled the case on a pro bono basis.
