Favorable result for Swiss manufacturing client
October 26, 2017
In an international contract dispute, Andrew Jay Graham, John Bourgeois, and Louis Malick represented the Swiss manufacturer of a line of luxury goods before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. The plaintiff, an American manufacturer and distributor, filed an eighteen-count complaint against our client seeking substantial damages and declaratory relief. Kramon & Graham successfully argued for dismissal of the plaintiff's key fraud allegations and a claim alleging Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act violations. The Court granted our client's motion to compel binding arbitration in Switzerland of five other claims, and stayed the remaining claims pending arbitration.
