Areas USA names Philip M. Andrews “Litigator of the Year”

Areas USA has recognized Philip Andrews as its “Litigator of the Year” for 2012. The State of Maryland awarded Areas a 35-year Public-Private Partnership (“P3”) contract valued at more than $400 million to design, develop, and operate the Maryland House and Chesapeake House travel plazas on Interstate 95 north of Baltimore. Over the course of 2012, Phil successfully represented Areas in proceedings before the Maryland Board of Public Works, which awarded the contract to Areas, and before two Maryland circuit courts, which ultimately rejected a competing offeror's challenge to the P3 selection process that resulted in Areas' contract award.
